  • Vineyards

The vineyard is managed by the Shannon Family who has been growing Muscat Canelli grapes in San Joaquin Valley for more than 30 years. One of the premier growing regions in the world, San Joaquin Valley’s rich, fertile soils, combined with the prevailing warm weather create ideal conditions for promoting fully ripened flavors. In particular, our vineyard’s river bank location and alluvial soils promote an extended growing season, with harvest typically a full 2-3 weeks later than most San Joaquin Muscat plantings. This extra "hang-time" is responsible for Moscato Allegro’s unique flavor profile; balancing sweet aromatics and flavors with a crisp mouthfeel.

  • Moscato Allegro

Moscato Allegro was the first and continues to be one of the few California Moscatos made from Muscat Canelli, the same noble grape used to produce Italy's famed Moscato d'Asti. Unlike other Moscato brands produced from the more generic Muscat varietals, Moscato Allegro delivers Muscat Canelli's signature exotic floral and honeyed notes in a light-bodied and elegant quaffer - the perfect wine for any occasion.

Our Muscat Canelli vineyards are harvested while the grapes still retain their natural acidity. They are then juiced and cold fermented with a select yeast strain that maximizes the varietal character. Fermentations are arrested at the halfway point to retain as much of the natural CO2 as possible. The resulting wine is sweet yet refreshing. The acidity in the wine balances out the sugar, making the finish crisp and clean but never cloying.

Our 2011 vintage is fresh and fragrant, offering intense floral and fruit aromas reminiscent of orange blossoms, apricots and peaches. Deliciously versatile, Moscato Allegro is lovely on a hot day or a cold night. It is delightfully refreshing on its own, but also makes a wonderful complement to brunch, desserts, spicy dishes and sweet and tangy sauces. Serve as an aperitif, pair with your favorite foods or enjoy all by itself – the possibilities are endless. Salute!
